例えば、旅行から帰ってきたときに「やっぱり家が一番だな」と、
心から思ってもらえるような家をつくりたいと思っています。
住宅はクライアントのライフスタイルや趣味、楽しみや夢を具体的に反映するものであると思います。
色々なご要望をお聞かせ頂き、共に考えながら、愛着の持てる、上質な空間を持った建築を
設計して行きたいと考えています。

My thoughts on what makes a good building
For example, when you come home after spending some time away on holiday, your dwelling may feel truly reassuring,
like a place where you belong. That is the kind of house I aspire to design.
I believe that a house should be a place which expressly reflects the client’s lifestyle, hobbies, likes and dreams.
I look forward to hearing your wishes and deliberating on ideas together in order to develop quality architecture and space which will be loved for decades to come.

普通とは平凡である事では無く、時代の変化にさらされても変わることの無い確かなものを意味します。
様々な情報が氾濫し、価値観は目まぐるしく刷新されているようですが、
人間が建物に求める本質は快適さや、安心、美しさなど、昔からそう大きくは変わっていないのではないでしょうか？
その前提に立った上で、新しい価値を創造できるような計画案を提案したいと思います。

Being normal - and innovative
Normal does not necessarily mean mediocre – to me, it means something that is able to withstand the test of time.
The world is overflowing with information and it seems to me like values are constantly being overwritten. In contrast, fundamental human desires in a building – such as comfort, reassurance, and beauty – probably have not changed much since ancient times. On top of fulfilling these unchanging desires, my true aim is to propose a plan which is able to create new value.

例えば自然の気候、光、風、音。
自然環境は特に快適性に密接に関わってくることから最も大切にします。
また住む人、使う人のライフスタイル、家具、予算、敷地から見える風景、町の密度など
あらゆる側面を診断した上で設計を進めます。
容れ物である建物が様々な環境にぴったり合うことで良い建物になると考えています。

A design in line with the surrounding context
What we call “context” encompasses everything surrounding or related to the building.
Climate, light, breeze and sound, are some examples.
When designing, I tend to prioritize these aspects of the natural environment as it is closely related to comfort.
I also assess and take into consideration many other factors such as its inhabitants, users’ lifestyles, furniture, budget, the view from the site, and building density. I believe that a “container” becomes a good building only when it achieves a perfect fit with its many contextual conditions.

人が幸せな毎日を送るためには健康であることは非常に大切です。
シックハウスにならない事や十分な構造強度を持っていることは当然として、
より健康で安全な毎日を送れるような設計を追求しています。
また省エネルギーであることは地球の環境問題にとっても重要であり、
合理的かつローエネルギーで運用できる建物を目指します。

Well-being and energy efficiency
In order for us to live happily, one of the most important factors is our well-being.
Going beyond the obvious (such as not having to worry about health hazard causing building materials and having sufficient structural strength), I am continually pursuing design which enables a healthier and safer way of life.
Energy efficiency is very important for the well-being of our planet. I aim to design buildings which can be operated rationally with low energy consumption.

居心地の良さを手触りや座り心地等によって具体的に実感できることが家具の良さです。
家具を空間にぴったりと合わせるように設計、コーディネートすることによって
建築空間における居心地をより良くすることが出来ると考えています。

Furniture and comfort
Furniture is able to provide us comfort in actual tangible ways, for instance, through its texture and by us sitting on it.
For this reason, I believe that designing and coordinating furniture with architectural space is key in further enhancing comfort.

光、風、水、空、緑などの自然要素を室内に取り込み、空間に潤いを与えることの出来るスペースが庭です。
建物と庭の関係や配置計画をしっかり考えることで、明るく、風通しが良く、
落ち着いた安らぎのある空間をつくることが出来ると考えています。

The garden and other aspects of nature
A well designed garden is able to nourish a space, allowing light, breeze, water, sky, and greenery to enter the structure.
A calming and reassuring space filled with light and airflow can be created by carefully examining the relationship between the building and garden as well as the configuration.

街並みに調和する建築は見ていて美しいと感じます。
単体の建築として美しいだけでなく、群となった時に美しいと感じるような、
良好な街並みをつくることが出来るような建築設計を追求しています。

Cityscape and harmony
I feel that a building is especially beautiful when it is harmonious with the cityscape.
My aim is architectural design which is beautiful not only individually but also collectively in association with its surroundings, so that it may complement the existing cityscape.
